eServices Management Program (eSMP)

The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), in partnership with the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) and the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) officially launches the e-Service Management Program (eSMP).

eSMP is an industry designed program that aims to address  the skills shortage in high growth service industries primarily in the IT-BPM sector.  The program which is being developed to scale both teaching and student learning, is composed of five courses (BPM 101, BPM 102, Service Culture, Business Communications and Systems Thinking), an industry/academe assessment tool and an intensive internship component.UPOU will offer the first two courses – BPM 101 and Business Communications – as part of its non-formal course offering beginning this school year.

When completed, the eSMPwill produce a critical mass of teachers and trainers in higher education institutions nationwide who will in turn produce quality graduates that meet the global skills standards and high employment demand that is required by the fast growing IT-BPM sector.

The development of the eSMP is one of three key outputs of the Strengthening Knowledge-Based Economic and Social Development Project, a 26-month technical assistance/grant from by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The Department of Finance is the executing agency. IBPAP, AIM and UPOU are the implementing partners.  The goal of the project is to provide greater access to knowledge resources for teaching and learning IT-BPM courses, enhance higher education curriculum and instruction and strengthen partnerships between industries and academic institutions to sustain.

IBPAP will launch the eSMP during the International  Conference on Open and Distance e-Learning which will be held on June 18-20, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza. Some 200-300 delegates from higher education institutes will be attending.  Some international participants and resource persons will also be participating. IBPAP will be providing a launch kit which contains project information and souvenir and  member-firm souvenirs.

With this, should your company wish to provide company souvenirs for the kits, please reach out to us. Should you have any further questions, you may get intouch with myself, Ms. Nide Bombay (nidemariebombay@bpap.org) or Ms. Florelixie Neo (relineo@ibpap.org).
